About Wild Retreat

Welcome to WILD Retreat Kangaroo Island, located on the Southern Ocean side of Kangaroo Island. WILD Retreat is like no other on Kangaroo Island.

When you step outside your luxury 3 bedroom self-contained retreat, you will be mesmerised by its 180-degree panoramic views across the azure waters of award winning Vivonne Bay, Point Ellen and the Southern Ocean.

Behind WILD lay 3600 acres of natural wilderness where native animals run wild and some amazing walking tracks are ready to be explored within the shrubland.  You are sure to see Short-beaked Echidna’s and Tammar Wallabies, with tracks leading to ocean cliffs and secret rocky coves where Seals lay basking in the sun.

About our history

The Wild Side of Kangaroo Island

This brand new architecturally stunning, modern 3-bedroom self-contained retreat is perfect for couples and families. WILD caters up to 6 guests. What sets WILD Retreat apart is having a local manager with in-depth local knowledge; on hand if you require any assistance.

WILD is perfect for relaxing, swimming, snorkelling, reading and exploring beautiful Vivonne Bay. Located only 30 minutes from Flinders Chase National Park, home to the Kangaroo Island’s most impressive and unusual natural landmarks, Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks. Vivonne Bay also offers outdoor attractions including guided Kayak Tours down the Harriett River; great for bird watching. For the adrenaline junky why not try a quad bike tours or sandboarding located nearby.

Self-Catering: as the property is set up for self-catering and relatively secluded, we advise purchasing groceries either on the mainland, Kingscote or Penneshaw. The Vivonne Bay General store is super handy being only 2km from the retreat. Great for takeaway and general provisions including fuel, beer and wine.

We look forward to welcoming and sharing the beauty of this area! See you on the WILD side soon.

Message from the owners

Our home away from home

Hi! welcome to our wild retreat.  Our names are Gail and Lyndsay, we fell in love with Kangaroo Island and everything it has to offer on our first visit 26 years ago, purchasing Wild properties in 1995.

This has been our sanctuary and home away from home which we have shared with family, friends, and guests over the years. We both love the peace and quiet and wild beauty of Vivonne Bay and take pride in our houses and hope you enjoy its attributes as much as we do.

Our goal is to ensure that you have a wonderful experience at our retreat and encourage guests to let us know if there is anything they need before or during their stay via our local manager Warren and his delightful wife Thuy.
